Great Blue Heron Reserve, July 3, 2014
Today we went to the Great Blue Heron Reserve. Beautiful Spring Day. How many animals and birds can you find.
WE can find a Blue Heron
The Blue Heron is a big bird with large wings a long beak .It makes it nest in trees.It likes to stand close to the water to catch fish. When it is disturbed it makes a really loud Bawky sound. It sounds just like Bosco the bulldog. Bawk Bawk .
The Blue Heron Reserve has about a hundred birds in big nests in trees. They like to have their nests close to together . Its called a Heronry. They like to have other heron friends to help keep their baby birds safe. What other birds or animals can we find in this video
We can find a beaver.
A beaver is a furry animal that swims in the water. It is a friend of the Herons. He likes to build a house our of sticks. Herons like to build their nests out of sticks too. They both like to live near water. They like to live in places that are safe. That is why the Beaver like the Heron Reserve. It is a special place just for animals and birds to live. They can make nice stick homes.
